What do you need to do to commission a portrait?
Contact me to discuss the timescale, availability and cost. Portraits can take between 2 and 4 months to complete to the final sculpture dependent upon the size and complexity.
For animals:
- Download the form available for you to take measurements and photographs to enable a good depiction in the pose you would wish to see the animal.
- Accurate measurements will mean that it will be your particular animal in the correct scale showing the differences between it and another of the same breed.
- Document well with photos the characteristics that make it individual (special way of lying / sitting)
- Send the photographs and measurements (by post or email) and I will do the rest. I will give you an approximate time of completion on receipt but if you have a special event coming up please let me know so I can try to make your deadline (within reason!)
- I will require a deposit of £60 to undertake the work
- Prices for the finished sculpture will start from approximately £160 for the smaller animals at 1/6th life-size. Any scale will be considered.
For children:
- I will need to see the child and meet with you to discuss the pose and other details such as clothes, scale etc.
- I will take the measurements and photographs for working
- After the initial work has taken place I will need to see the child again to check on progress and make changes where necessary
- A deposit of £1,000 will be necessary at this stage
- Before starting to cast the model you will get the chance for the final agreement and touches to take place before it is cast into bronze
- Prices for the finished portrait will be from approximately £2,000 for a 1/3rd portrait of a small child in a seated position
